ACGG content calendar

From acgg ilriwikis

This calendar is an attempt to map the possible content emerging from the project, both in terms of web articles and publications of different kinds (then specified). Each final publication (e.g. fact sheet, paper etc.) should have a simple distribution plan, get posted on the blog, shared on which platforms (social and physical), driving the audience to specific content.

Background message James about the content calendar

Hi All

Let me add to what you have written, and you can all tell me what you think.

Anyway, I think we need to carry out a short exercise to identify:

  1. Some key global audiences, better if individuals. --> Check comms plan for general audiences. We need to get more specific through info from TD/JB etc.
  2. Some small, but important messages for each audience. --> Check the comms plan and let's refine this?
  3. Key dates in the internal and external environment. --> This is the kind of info we need to get at each comms chat
  4. How many times a year do/ can they target their audiences, and drive them back to the core information. --> Good question

Could this be the focus of our next sit down meeting? I think that a lot of this information is in Tadelle’s and Jasmine’s. We just need to get it on paper.

Content --> Agree to it all and echoes a number of suggestions made above. I would still keep the project team portraits to get content going during 'down time'...

  1. One overall fact sheet
  2. Innovation platforms? Why, what, how?
  3. Chicken strains selected? Which ones, why, opportunities and risks?
  4. Breeding plan? Why, what, how?
  5. One gender-sensitive fact. This is key to getting into broader conversations.
  6. Each factsheet should have a simple distribution plan. Posted on the blog, shared on which platforms (social and physical), driving the audience to which content.
  7. A monthly update on changes from each country. This would have to be decided in advance.
  8. A blog post from particularly important events, e.g. training, launches.

According to your calendar, we can count on: August:

  • Two launches and one overall piece from Jasmine. Jasmine needs to get a writer from Nigeria. --> Yes and addressed in the agenda for our next chat.
  • One information sheet, the overall one

September

  • One launch and two country reports.
  • One information sheet.

I think you get the idea. They would need to be involved. After agree with them, we need to:

  • Identify writers, and modalities. I mean that if Jasmine would clean up the initial text, I could probably dedicate a day a month. But I would like to speak to Susan as well. I am not sure what she has planned.
  • Editors and disseminators.

That’s my two-pence worth. So do I post this on the blog? --> No, on the wiki this is fine. The content (articles, briefs etc.) will obviously go on the website.

Regards,

James
